These terms are an agreement between you and Greig Schofield, who runs Hidey Hunt in the United Kingdom. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Who can play
You must be 18 or over. One account per person. Keep your sign-in details safe; you're responsible for activity on your account.
2. Playing safely
Hidey Hunt is played in the real world. Take care of yourself and others: watch for traffic, respect private property and local rules, don't trespass, and never go anywhere unsafe to reach a hidey. You play at your own risk.
3. Content rules
Everything you post (photos, hints, names, group details) must follow these rules, in towns and in private groups alike:
- Public places and fixed features only.
- No people, faces, children, number plates, house fronts or private homes.
- Nothing dangerous or illegal to reach (rooftops, railways, water edges, building sites).
- Nothing offensive, sexual, hateful, harassing or misleading, and no advertising.
- Only post photos you took yourself.
You keep ownership of what you post, and give us permission to store it and show it to the players who can see it, for as long as it's in the app. We use automated checks and human moderators, and may remove content, hide groups or suspend accounts that break these rules or harm the game. You can report anything through the app.
4. Credits
Credits are a game feature only. They have no cash value, can't be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for anything outside the game, and we may adjust balances to fix errors or cheating. Cheating (fake locations, multiple accounts, colluding to farm credits) can lead to removal of credits or the account.
5. Premium
Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription bought through Apple. The price and length are shown before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID and renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. We may change Premium features, and will tell you about price changes in advance as Apple requires.
6. The service
We work hard to keep Hidey Hunt running, but it's provided as it is and may sometimes be unavailable, and GPS can be inaccurate. We may change or end features. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Otherwise, we aren't liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
7. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Account). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
8. General
We may update these terms and will tell you in the app about important changes. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction (you may also bring a claim where you live in the UK). Apple's standard licence terms also apply to the iPhone app.
